The Immaculate Heart has lots of symbolism, the three flames represent The Holy Trinity (God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) and the transformative power of love, with a sunburst of divine light behind the heart, the seven daggers refer to the seven “dolors”, the seven sorrowful events in Mary’s life. The heart is encircled by a band of red roses. "Cor Immaculatum Mariae" (Latin for “Immaculate Heart of Mary”) is machine embroidered on a label around the base of the heart.
In the Catholic devotion the heart of Mary is viewed as a symbol of Mary’s joys and Sorrows, her virtues and perfections, her virginal love for God The Father, her maternal love for her son Jesus Christ and her compassionate love for all mankind.
